A temple
of Solha Bhuji Goddess Durga,is located on right
side Ranchi-Tata highway(NH33)
at 60 kms from Ranchi
in a village named “dewri” at Tamar. It is the only temple in Jharkhand where
the religious
rituals are performed by the Pahans(Tribal priests) along with conventional
Brahmins.
The temple is a rock sculpted structure. According to some legends Asoka
used to come to worship here. This is located on the NH 33 (Ranchi- Jamshedpur)
and is easily approachable by road. Fare by bus from either Ranchi
or Jamshedpur is less than Rs.50.
Recently huge construction of a temple enclave is taking place here completely enclosing the original rock temple. Barricades have also been put for crowd management. Frequent visits by Indian Cricket Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is widely covered in Print Media.
